Kelly's Missions: Where Will You End Up Today?

You never know where you will end up, or what you will find, when you tackle one of Kelly's Missions! Perhaps you will be hunting dust bunnies in places you never knew dust bunnies lived, or diving for treasures between your sofa cushions, or maybe flinging "unmentionables" from under beds, closets, and dressers. You just never know! Each day during the week, Kelly will add a new mission for whatever zone we are working in. Have fun! Are you ready to FLY with Kelly?

FLY Spot Alert for the Week!

"FLY Spots" are one of those hidden places where clutter seems to accumulate without us even realizing it! Spend 15 minutes in a FLY Spot, and you will be amazed at how much clutter you find!

This week's FLY Spot: Here we are back to Zone 2- The Kitchen. With a full 5 days of cleaning and decluttering, our kitchen is going to look wonderful! With all this cleaning, I'm going to give you a little break on your Fly Spot Alert today. All I want you to do is declutter one cook book/recipe book. If you need to rip a recipe or two out of it to save for later, that's fine! But, it's time to toss the clutter that is taking over the kitchen. Say bye bye to that recipe book. Have fun with this one.

Friday's Mission!

Dear Friends,

Today is our last day in the Kitchen!! For today I want you to grab your broom and your mop. Sweep your kitchen floor really well and then mop. There are several ways to mop a kitchen floor and no real wrong way. Hot soapy water and wipe. There is no "perfect" mop and no "perfect" way to do it. Just Do It!

Don't obsess and get caught up in perfection! It won't matter if you don't mop the way your Mother did as long as you do it. Remember House work done incorrectly still blesses your family!

Love,
Kelly

Thursday's Mission!

Dear Friends,

Today we are going to venture in to the pantry! If you do not have a pantry, then choose one cabinet in your kitchen to straighten.

You know how they start off so nice and orderly and somehow the boxes overtake each other and then (my personal favorite) the EMPTY boxes of cereal, cookies etc, that no one knows who the last one to have them are just in there piling up! Allow yourself one good UUUUGGGHHH, take a breath and start dumping. Look for anything that is out of date and toss that as well. Little compares to the shining sink like a freshly straightened cabinet or pantry!

Have fun and this can count as a 27 fling boogie!

Have Fun!

Love,
Kelly

Wednesday's Mission!

Dear Friends,

Today we are going to de-clutter our leftover, food storage, plastic, Rubbermaid, Tupperware, Glad-Ware, etc. containers!

Do you have excess lids? More bowls than lids? Stained and or Melted? Do we even need to talk about those old margarine, ice cream and sherbet containers?

It is time to let go of this clutter. I am not telling you that you can't keep any containers, I am telling you to get rid of the ones that have no lids, stained and the ones that keep getting shoved in the back because it just isn't a size that works for you.

I don't know what a reasonable number of containers to own is, that is a personal choice that has to be made on how you cook, store and the size of your family.

I just know that if you haven't de-cluttered these items in the past 6 months it is time to really go through them and start tossing!

Spend 10 minutes doing this, don't get sidetracked and rip apart your cabinets and drawers. One thing at a time.

Have fun!

Love,
Kelly

Tuesday's Mission!

Dear Friends,

We are in Kitchen this week and we are ready to go!!

Today your mission is to clean out under your sink! All the almost empty containers, the old nasty sponges, the grocery bags, the cleaners that you don't use,the empty jars, the clutter that just seems to pile up under the sink! You all know exactly what I am talking about!

Grab a trash bag and start flinging!

Love,
Kelly

Monday's Mission!

Dear Friends,

Your mission for today should you choose to accept it: Scrub down your counter tops, I don't mean to just wipe a rag across them! I mean you get some hot soapy water and you wipe down the counters from front to back and side to side. Yes, you have to move the stuff on the counters to do this. DON'T take everything off at one time and then plan to put it all back again, I promise you will get sidetracked and then you will all email me crying that it is all my fault!! LOL! You just move your toaster (or coffee pot or whatever this is an example here! :>) ) over to one side and wipe down the counter, then move over a foot or so, move aside what is there and wipe down some more and so on. We are not marathon cleaning the kitchen here, just getting all the crumbs and junk that seems to build up behind and under things. Have fun! Don't obsess! Enjoy!

Love,
Kelly
