Kelly's Missions: Where Will You End Up Today?
You never know where you will end up, or what you will find, when you tackle one of Kelly's Missions! Perhaps you will be hunting dust bunnies in places you never knew dust bunnies lived, or diving for treasures between your sofa cushions, or maybe flinging "unmentionables" from under beds, closets, and dressers. You just never know! Each day during the week, Kelly will add a new mission for whatever zone we are working in. Have fun! Are you ready to FLY with Kelly?
FLY Spot Alert for the Week!
"FLY Spots" are one of those hidden places where clutter seems to accumulate without us even realizing it! Spend 15 minutes in a FLY Spot, and you will be amazed at how much clutter you find!
This week's FLY Spot:
This week we are in Zone 3: The Bathroom and One Other Room. The other room this month is the Home Office. If you don't have an organization system set up for your taxes, buy a box of manila envelopes and mark one with 2009 to contain a copy of the tax return you just completed. Label other envelopes for charitable giving receipts, business expenses, W2 and other official forms when they arrive next year, etc. Claim an area in your desk for these envelopes and ALWAYS put tax info there without procrastination. This small step will save you much time and hassle during tax time next year and the manila envelopes are easy to grab to take to your accountant or other appointments where the info will be needed.
You can't organize clutter; you can only get rid of it! - FlyLady

Friday's Mission!
Dear Friends,
It is time to clear off the flat surfaces in the bathroom. This means
the edge of the tub, the counter tops and the back of the toilets. We
have a tendency to let things pile up on these areas and usually it is
just clutter. Toss what you can toss and put away the rest! Those
shampoo bottles, hair scrunchies and cosmetics. You know the stuff that
I am speaking of! Have fun with this!
For the Home Office: If you have not done your 2009 taxes - gather up your paperwork
today!! If you have done your taxes and have not filed your copies or burned a disc of your files
from doing your taxes online - today is the day!
Love,
Kelly
Thursday's Mission!
Dear Friends,
Today we are going to shine our tubs or showers! We have talked about
shining our sinks since you started and we want you take 5 or 10
minutes to shine that tub or shower. Do not get obsessed with the tub
being perfect. Just scrub the tub with whatever works. There is no
perfect tub/shower cleaner or perfect way to do this. Shampoo on a wash
cloth will work! Whatever or however you choose, anything is better
then nothing, then spritz it with a little Windex and dry it with a
towel like you shine your sink.
For the Home Office: Do you know where your income tax information is?
Do you have a home for those receipts and records? Today establish a home
even if it is just a manilla envelope taped to the wall!!
Love,
Kelly
Wednesday's Mission!
Dear Friends,
When you go in your bathroom each morning do you have trouble seeing
yourself in the mirror. Is your beautiful image blurred from the
toothpaste splatters and water marks?
Grab your favorite window cleaner and let's bring a shine to the
glass. This will only take a few short minutes!
For the Home Office: Clear off the desk or computer area of cans, glasses,
dishes, trash etc. Set your timer for 5 minutes - I bet you have time left over!
Love,
Kelly
Tuesday's Mission!
Dear Friends,
We are headed into the bathroom this week. Let's grab some general
purpose cleaner and shine those counter tops and shine our bathroom
sinks! Clear everything off the counter top and wipe them from side to
side and top to bottom. Then use a little elbow grease and scrub your
sink, then spritz the counter top and sink with a little Windex to make
it shine.
For the Home Office: Empty the wastebasket
Love,
Kelly
Monday's Mission!
Dear Friends,
For the Bathroom: Spend 15 minutes decluttering health and beauty aids! This means
toss the old medicines, hair sprays, gels, shampoos, conditioners,
old razors, old dried up nail polish, old cosmetics and anything
else that is hanging around in your bathroom that you have not used
in the past year!
Grab a trash bag and start tossing. Don't hold onto something
because you "might" use it, or because you might need it, this is
how clutter breeds (an also how bacteria breeds if you are holding
onto old cosmetics, brushes or sponges)! Be brutal and toss, toss, toss.
I trust you all to make good decisions in disposing of these items.
Recycle containers or packaging that can be recycled, if you are not
sure how to dispose of certain medications - contact your local
pharmacy or poison control center to get instructions for your
specific medication.
When you complete this mission you will love how your bathroom
feels, I know I use that sentence a lot for missions but it is so
true! LOL!
For the Home Office: Set a timer for 5 minutes and clear off a hotspot!
Love,
Kelly
